This view shows the Mill buildings the foundations still exist. To the lower left can be seen the adit which is now blocked at surface but can be accessed from the Bellan No2 Shaft on the valley slopes. Waste rock from the adit was trammed to and dumped on the foreshore and taken away by the action of the sea. Compressed air for the rock drill was generated by a pelton wheel fed with water carried along a leat which picked up river water further up the valley.
Bellan Mine is one of the best mines in the area to explore but requires experience and equipment to gain access.
